Umm...

I've tried to blog. Nothing seems to work. Wonder if this appears...

A lot Less Than Six Months.

So this is a day later. And what happened today?

Well, I've just finished writing the sitcom with my two writing partners. Writing with other people is interesting. It all depends on how big your ego is. Mine is huge (obviously) so I tend to veto people all the time. So they develop other ways of getting at you. Cleverer, shiftier, nastier. And they work. Thank fuck for that too. Because most of the ime my vetos are based on a crock of old shit.

I worked at the wine merchants today. And the boss was listening to U2. Shit. I fucking hate U2. I read recently that the lyrics to the song One had been voted best lyrics ever. Really?

'One life, with each other, sisters, brothers' .

That was voted as the best lyric ever!

Fuck off. How about this by Billy Bragg (paraphrased by the late, great Kirsty Maccall):

"I loved you then as I love you still
but I put you on a pedestal, you put me on the pill".

Genius.

Or how about this from Elvis Costello:

"But there's no danger,
It's a professional career.
Though it could be arranged with just a word in Mr Churchill's ear.
If you're out of luck or out of work,
we can send you to Johannisberg"

Or even this from Mr Cocker:

"I can't help it, I was dragged up,
my favourite parks are car parks,
grass is something you smoke,
birds are something you shag,
take your Year in Provence,
and shove it up your ass".

Proper genius. You can take your fucking Bono. And shove the hypocritical, sunglass wearing toadstool up your ass too.

Long Time No See

Older? Yes.

Wiser? Possibly.

Uglier? Definately!

So, why am I back? Simple. I'm in a new place. I'm doing a new project. Oh, and I'm single.

Yeah, yeah, gloat all you want. Somewhat inevitable though. My mother always told me I'd die alone. Cheery stuff and all that.

So what else has been going on? Well, the film is finished. And it's fucking good. The last sic months may have been an emotional rollercoaster that jumped off the tracks but at least I can hold my head up and say i directed a film. And it's fucking good. We had a showing at The Curzon in Soho a few weeks back and it went down a storm.

Other stuff? Still plugging away in the world of TV. Still not getting enough work and working in the wine merchants. Bah!

Working on a sitcom (still). And a TV series. And another short film.

Put it this way, I've got to that point where life is about to pass me by so I'm grabbing it by the balls so hard it's making God's eyes water.

Who knows, it maybe sooner that 6 months before I blog again...

Still alive.

Quick note just to point out that I am still here. Film has been shot and am currently editing - looking very good thankyou very much. Cost me a lot more than expected so am very skint. Oh well.

Still with young lady; going very well since you're asking. Been out for a few walks in the country (Walks? The Country? December?).

Walked out of a job this morning because boss was just too lazy/incompetant/stupid to bother with. Stirred some shit up by phoning his boss and revealing all. Childish, I know but it had to be done.

Apart from that, not much.

Relaxed.

Ahhhhh. Have just returned from Edinburgh where I had a little break from the chaos that is life. Stayed with the young lady's sister and generally just ate food, drank wine, went out, chilled. Consequently I am truly relaxed. Which is a distinct rarity.

And I am seriously considering a move. I think that London is dragging me down. It probably won't do my (non-existant) career any good but my quality of life would sky-rocket.
